The Pub The Poet The Pint
For a city of its size, Dublin has boxed above its weight when it comes to writers of international renown. Experience this lively one-man show that introduces you to the language of some of the biggest names in world literature: Joyce, Yeats, Beckett, Wilde, Heaney.
In this presentation you will hear renditions from the works of the city's favourite literary sons and daughters. The focus is not only on the literary dinosaurs of the past; the actor celebrates the new generation who are writing in Ireland today. You may not recognize the names Meehan, Kennelly and Boland, but in this presentation they earn the right to stand beside the
greats of Irish literature.

Colm Quilligan is the author of the book Dublin Literary Pub Crawl - A guide to the pubs of Dublin and the writers they served. He takes you through the literary history of the city. A key element of the show is the rich lore of Dublin's pubs and the role they played as social centres for many trades, including writers and journalists. The performance is punctuated with song and anecdote and is set against a backdrop of wonderful photographs of the city.
